No sound in Windows 11? How to solve it

Are you having problems with your audio in Windows 11? This problem can appear suddenly, but luckily there is a solution. Before you follow the steps below, we assume that you have already checked that your sound is not muted in the bottom right bar. If the volume is set correctly, be sure to follow the steps below.

Sound settings

Our laptop often has several sound sources available, such as a speaker. Settings > Sound > Output You can check which sound source is selected under Choose where you want to play the sound. After selecting the desired source, you can try audio playback again.
Check cable

If you have external speakers, it’s a good idea to check the cables. Unplugged or incorrectly plugged cables happen to all of us from time to time. Are they in good condition? Then try unplugging and reconnecting them. Nothing seems to work? Then we move on to the third step.
Enable troubleshooting

If the above steps didn’t work, it’s time to turn on Windows and let it do the work. You can do this by running the built-in troubleshooter. Go through Institutions again to sound and click Fix common audio problems.

Windows will now search for potential problems. You will be asked which device you want to troubleshoot. Then select the device you want and Windows will continue searching for you. You will either receive a message saying that Windows could not identify the problem, or the troubleshooter will suggest suggestions for resolving the problem.
