In May of last year, the company announced the end of Internet Explorer support for Microsoft 365 online ecosystem services when the browser’s desktop app was no longer supported for certain editions of Windows 10.

In the statement that formalized the end of Internet Explorer, which was updated at the end of last May, he explained that Edge not only offers greater security and is more modern than its predecessor, but also guarantees “compatibility with legacy and inherited websites and applications.” other programs.

In addition, the company underlined that compared to the monthly security updates that feature Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft Edge is able to release security patches for sudden vulnerabilities “within a few days, if not hours”.

The withdrawal of Internet Explorer 11 support will not affect server-based browser applications or the Windows 10 Long Term Service Channel (LTSC) or Trident MSHTML engine.
