Stardew Valley 1.6 already has a date for smartphones and consoles

It’s been a few months since the Stardew Valley 1.6 update for PC was released last Marchan update that, as we told you back then, came loaded with new features that together served to provide many more hours of gameplay to even the biggest veterans. This was another point to add to the already quite extensive list of reasons why its creator Eric Barone, better known as ConcernedApe, has earned himself a paradise for lovers of this title.

To better understand this, we have to remember that basically Barone was going to end the development of Stardew Valley with version 1.5, which It was released for PC in late 2020, but was delayed until 2023 for those who play it on mobile devices. From that point on, she was to focus on developing Haunted Chocolatier, her long-awaited second game, which aims to replicate some of Stardew’s success formula, but with enough new features to make the proposition truly original.

So the surprise came in April last year when ConcernedApe announced that there will be a new updateand the interest did not cease to grow, as it turned out that he was adding more and more novelties to it. As I said at the beginning, we finally found out that a year or so was devoted, it seems, almost exclusively (Haunted Chocolatier aside, that is) to a game that wasn’t supposed to receive any additional content.

As I recalled earlier, it took a few years for the 1.5 update to make the jump from PC to other platforms, so there was some trepidation about what would happen this time. However, the wait will be much shorter than the previous one because, as we read on their Twitter account, ConcernedApe has confirmed that Stardew Valley 1.6 will arrive on smartphones and consoles on November 4th. Eight months, less than a third of the time we had to wait for the previous update.

Will this be the last update for the game? Normally this would be expected as Barone has dedicated many years to Stardew Valley and in this regard we must remember that all updates with new content were and are free. However, and as much as those of us waiting for Haunted Chocolatier wish they would start working on it, it seems increasingly reasonable to bet that yes, sooner or later, surprises us again by announcing that work has begun on Stardew Valley 1.7.
