HP launches new OmniBook models with Copilot+

More than 45 TOPS and you have a Windows PC with Copilot+ in your hands. HP adds more Qualcomm chip options and launches the OmniBook Ultra Flip with the latest Intel chip on board.

HP will launch two new laptops this fall that are Copilot+ compatible. Read what Microsoft’s new marketing name means here. We already tested the first model, the HP OmniBook X, this summer. Our verdict was unanimous: impressive, despite some odd choices.

At launch, only the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite was available, one of the most expensive variants of the ARM chip. In the coming weeks, you will be able to configure the HP OmniBook. On average, it is 300 to 400 euros cheaper without having to accept any major loss in performance.

Be sure to read our in-depth analysis comparing these Qualcomm ARM chips to the traditional x86 chips from Intel and AMD, and the difference between the Plus and Elite chips.

By the way, are you wondering where the name OmniBook suddenly came from? HP did a major cleanup of its brand names this spring. OmniBook is the personal space, EliteBook is the professional space, all other brand names like Spectre, Envy or Pavilion will disappear. OmniBook is also aimed at creative professionals in the high-end range, making it a certain level of professional device (and configurable with Windows 11 Pro).

HP OmniBook 14

During the IFA in Berlin in early September, HP introduced a new variant of the OmniBook series with a 2-in-1 hybrid laptop. The HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is the first with the new Intel Lunar Lake chips on board. Later this month, an AMD variant will also be released under the name HP OmniBook Ultra, also a Copilot+ PC.

Under the product name Intel Core Ultra 200V, you get a lot of horsepower and, above all, a very long battery life. Intel wants to stand up to the new Qualcomm chips, which are extremely economical thanks to the ARM architecture and break autonomy records everywhere.

The HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is aimed at creative professionals and media enthusiasts with a 3K OLED screen (2,880 x 1,800 pixels, 48 - 120 Hz, 500 nits peak). The panel has a DeltaE of less than two and a DCI-P3 color space of 100 percent, ideal for professional results. The laptop is available in two colors.

The 9-megapixel webcam must provide you with optimal images. Around the laptop you will find two USB-C (Thunderbolt 4) and one USB-C (USB 3.2 Gen 2, 10 Gbit/s).

The HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is now available in the US and starts at $1,449. Pricing and availability for Europe are not yet known.
