Sony has confirmed the games that will accompany the launch of the PS5 Pro and graphical improvements they will have. As you might imagine, these are pretty much the same titles that were shown at the launch of said console, and unfortunately, they’re mostly cross-gen games that have been available for both PS4 and PS5 for some time now.
There are no new triple A games (not previously announced) from Sony designed to accompany it at launch and to thoroughly demonstrate its capabilities, and that’s not good.
Almost everything we will see is games that have already been released or announced more or less a while ago, but Sony doesn’t care about it at all. The company showed that it is not afraid of anything and its hand was not shaking when it has to ask for 799.99 euros for this console.
Games with exclusive enhancements on PS5 Pro
Gran Turismo 7
It will support PSSR to achieve 4K resolution, apply ray tracing in reflections during races and have “experimental support for 8K and 60 FPS image output”. Sony is talking about image output, not actual 8K rendering, keep that in mind.
Horizon Forbidden West
It will match the PS5 quality mode but retain the 60 FPS of the PS5 Pro, and some tweaks have been made to the Decima graphics engine that affect shadows, depth of field, skin, hair, god rays and more.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
It will have various graphical enhancements to take advantage of the greater potential of the PS5 Pro and will run at a higher frame rate, although Sony did not provide specific numbers.
The Last of Us Part I and Part II Remastered
They will have rendering improvements to offer higher graphics quality. They will use PSSR to upscale to 4K from 1440p while maintaining 60 FPS. You can also choose between performance and fidelity mode on PS5 Pro.
Marvel’s Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
It includes both Spider-Man Remastered, Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2. These will offer a new “Performance Pro” mode that uses 4K resolution, ray tracing and maintains 60 FPS.
Hogwarts heritage
It improves the graphical quality of performance and fidelity modes without affecting the gaming experience. PSSR is used in all modes and ray tracing is improved, which applies to both reflections and shadows.
Dragon’s Dogma 2, Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4
They also use PSSR for scaling and adopt ray tracing. In Resident Evil Village you can play at 120 FPS and in Resident Evil 4 Remake we will have better performance level but no confirmed FPS rate.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
It will also offer enhanced fidelity and performance modes that will run at 30 FPS and 60 FPS. It will offer improved graphics quality thanks to PSSR scaling support and will be playable with ray tracing applied to occlusion in performance mode while maintaining 60 FPS.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
In fidelity mode, it will increase the resolution to 4K. Performance mode will remain at 60 FPS, but with higher resolution, ray tracing applied to shadows and reflections as well. PSSR will be used in both modes.
Alan Wake 2
It will have ray tracing in quality mode and in performance mode it will improve the graphics quality and run at 60 FPS. Upscaling will allow us to reach 4K, but no details have been given on what type of ray tracing we’ll have or the performance with this technology.
Final Fantasy VII Reborn
It will have an enhanced mode for PS5 Pro that will run at 60 FPS using PSSR to improve the graphics quality. It will be very close to PS5 quality mode and will run at 60 FPS.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows
It will have ray tracing lighting on the PS5 Pro and will use PSSR as a scaling technology to improve performance.
Star Blade
With Sony’s new console, it will be possible to play in 4K at 50 FPS or more. It will use PSSR to improve image quality when scaling and will have a mode that will run at 80 FPS.
First offspring
This game will use ray tracing and PSSR. It will move in a higher resolution and with greater fluidity, and will also be able to improve the graphic quality thanks to the greater performance of the PS5 Pro GPU. The developers are considering the integration of frame generation through FSR 3.1.
