Installing a modified GCam often leads to better photography, as the Google Pixel has a camera app that handles fast, eye-catching photos extremely well at first glance. And it’s worth following its evolution: BigKaka is currently working on Gcam 9.4We tried it and it’s worth it.
It continues to be updated from time to time, especially with the release of each new Google Pixel family. And gradually, developers have added their special applications suitable for almost every Android: GCam is a highly recommended way to enhance photos by simply installing an APK. One of the latest versions, version 9.4, is now available.
Google Camera in version 9.4. With manual adjustments and custom profiles
In the development panorama, there is a small pocket dedicated to changing the Google Pixel camera application, not just making it suitable for other phones. many versions improve on Google’s originalBigKaka is one of the best known: its GCam often includes advanced control settings, LUT profiles, and a bunch of minor tweaks to take your photography to an almost professional level.
The most commonly installed version on Google Pixels right now is Camera 9.4, although version 9.5 is also available (which is the version that the Google Pixel 9 comes standard with). Our Google Pixel 8 Pro only has the aforementioned 9.4. And it now has its own version of GCam.
As reflected on the page of Celso Azevedo, a regular website about GCam, developer BigKaka is taking the first steps to bring Google Camera 9.4 to stable. The current version 2.0 is starting development, but may still show some instabilityWe tested it on a Xiaomi with a MediaTek Dimensity chip and the results were quite positive in our tests.
Different predefined filters, ability to create and load your own capture profiles, manual settings, customizable image processing, option to add watermarks, JPEG file quality adjustment, Curve adjustment from camera viewfinderadvanced developer options… BigKaka has done an excellent job of porting and developing this updated version of Google camera.
The APK can be downloaded from Celso Azevedo’s website. It comes clean from malware, weighs 428 MB and is valid for phones with Android 10 and above (it will not work properly on all of them, which is the disadvantage of all GCams).
