Cloudflare introduces Speed Brain, a technology that makes websites up to 45 percent faster by predicting which pages a user is likely to visit.
With Speed Brain, Cloudflare aims to put an end to long loading times by anticipating a user’s next click. The technology predicts which page a visitor is likely to open and pre-loads it into the browser cache. This means pages are displayed almost immediately after clicking. This tool uses machine learning and is available for all Cloudflare subscriptions. Speed Brain already works with popular Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
The system uses the Chrome Speculation Rules API and Cloudflare’s global network. For websites that use Cloudflare, this means that their loading times are significantly reduced without the operator having to take any additional measures. For example, a visitor to an e-commerce website can navigate through categories more quickly because the next page is already loaded in advance.
Speed Brain is available free of charge to all Cloudflare customers. Free subscriptions have the feature enabled by default, while Pro, Business, and Enterprise customers can enable the feature themselves with one click.
