Android Auto It continues to be updated relentlessly and recently reached version 12.9 with an unchanging changelog: as usual, there are few new features. However, in our tests we found one notable change.
Google Maps in Android Auto now shows me the lane I need to take better: I’m glad that the current interface didn’t fully guide me on my journeys. This is a change that is rolling out to all users.
For some it’s a small change. For me it’s great.
Google Maps has been showing for a while now Which lane should we drive in?but with the latest Android Auto update, this guide is much clearer and easier to understand.
Quietly, as I mentioned at the beginning, Google has added this small innovation to the Maps interface for Android Auto. However, it is natural that it was not announced with great fanfare: change is simplemore space between the guide arrows and a highlight showing the lane we need to be in.
And personally, I think it’s very true. Until now I was confused by the small separation between the lane indicator, also it was displayed very small size under the current directions. Also my car has a rather small diagonal screen.
This new graphic is clearer and bigger and I appreciate it because first of all, emphasisIt would be ideal for smaller car screens like mine. I will no longer enter the wrong lane when exiting or before exiting, directions couldn’t be clearer.
To get it, it’s recommended that you update both Google Maps and Android Auto. That update doesn’t currently appear on the Play Store, but that’s okay: I downloaded the APK of the new version from APKMirror.
In any case, update maps app It should be enough, as it’s a change from Google Maps. But how will I appreciate it in my car with Android Auto… a minor innovation for the vast majority, but very notable for me.
