Xiaomi announces the new 14T and 14T Pro in the Benelux. Night photography should be the flagship for the new devices.

Xiaomi is launching two new smartphones in the Benelux. The Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro follow the launch of the flagship Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14T in the summer. The T models are more likely to be entry-level models.

In the announcement, Xiaomi alludes to night photography as a signature element of the 14T devices. Of course, this also includes the necessary mentions of AI.

Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro

Both devices have a 6.67-inch screen with a 1.5K resolution (2712 x 1220) and a pixel density of 446 ppi. The refresh rate increases to 144 Hz and Xiaomi claims a peak brightness of 4000 nits. On the 14T Pro, the screen is housed in a metal frame that is intended to offer more protection against damage. The 3D curved back is intended to provide more support.

Xiaomi chooses processors from MediaTek. The Xiaomi 14T Pro features a MediaTek 9300+ processor supported by an Immortalis-G720 GPU. The Xiaomi 14T is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra.

Photography has been the flagship of the flagship devices and Xiaomi wants to extend this line to the 14T models. The name of the camera manufacturer Leica is displayed again on these devices. The Xiaomi 14T has a triple camera setup: a 50 MP main camera (f/1.7), a 50 MP telephoto camera (f/1.9) and a 12 MP wide-angle camera (f/2 ,2). The camera specifications of the Xiaomi 14T Pro are almost identical on paper, but the telephoto camera has a longer focal length (60 mm).

Of course, the lenses are also equipped with the necessary AI tools to improve quality. The Xiaomi AISP platform improves dynamic range and reduces noise to preserve high colors and details in all possible lighting conditions. Xiaomi even dares to say that it has found “a new definition of night photography”, although any manufacturer would claim that.

AI is present in your device in many other ways. From editing images to writing messages to summarizing texts: name an application that you can do with your smartphone and that has an AI function. The features listed by Xiaomi are no different from those we see on other modern devices.

Wireless charging

Fast charging is another flagship feature for Xiaomi devices. The 14T has a charging power of 67 W. The Xiaomi 14T Pro fully depresses the fast charging pedal and charges at 120 W. This means that it is fully charged in 19 minutes. Xiaomi is also introducing wireless charging with 50 W for the first time in its T series for the 14T Pro.

The Xiaomi 14T is available in blue, gray and green from 649.90 euros. The Pro model is available in black, blue and gray and costs 899.90 euros. The prices include VAT.
