It’s been over two years since we learned that Death Stranding 2 was in developmentand from that moment we began to speculate about what was going through Hideo Kojima’s mind. Let’s not forget that after the debut of Death Stranding in November 2019, its creator stated that if he makes a second part, he will do it from scratch. Which of course, taking into account who we are talking about, it was already quite clear to us that the second part is really already running in his head.

Before that, however, and to remove any aftertaste that the original title may have left in his mouth, we were surprised by the Director’s Cut. And yes, I say we were surprised because actually the original title was already a director’s cutbecause he was very actively involved in everything related to its development. In truth, it would make a lot more sense to call it an extended edition or something, but if there’s one thing Kokima is an expert at besides signing great games, it’s eccentricity.

In 2022 we had confirmation that it was already in development and after a long wait, at the beginning of this year we were able to see the first demo of Death Stranding 2. A demo that, despite the appetite for everything, left a very good taste in the mouths of many of us (probably all of us (we really liked the first part of the game). Moreover we told you back then that everything indicated that the title would be released sometime in 2025, initially for the PlayStation 5 and some time later in the PC version.

ok then Hideo Kojima has already confirmed that Deadth Stranding 2 will arrive in 2025 and that the exact date has already been decided and will be revealed… in 2025. Why didn’t you make it public already and take advantage of your participation in Tokyo Games Show 2024? Because certain “unforeseen circumstances” prevented it. And it would be best if he stated what the circumstances were to avoid speculation, but apparently no, he didn’t.

This lack of clarity in this regard has therefore given rise to various theories about the reason why the date could not be announced today, and of course the most widespread is the one that points to problems in its development, could be reflected in the delay of the originally planned date. However, this “delay” also encourages us to think that Death Stranding will arrive sometime in the second half of the year, as announcements are usually several months away from their market debuts. Will we have to wait until November 2025? It’s not unreasonable to think about it at this point.
