Adobe Photoshop Elements gets AI features in new update

The 2025 releases of Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements include new AI-powered tools, including object removal, depth effects, and improved color correction.

Adobe is introducing new AI features in Photoshop Elements 2025, including an “Erase” tool similar to Google Photos’ Magic Eraser and Apple’s Clean-Up tool. This feature allows users to remove unwanted objects or people from photos and fill the background automatically.

Additionally, the software now offers a depth effect feature that allows users to adjust the depth of field in photos. By selecting a focus point, you can easily adjust the level of blur to simulate a bokeh effect.

Additionally, the update includes a new color correction tool that gives users the ability to change colors in specific parts of an image. Also new is the photo combination tool, which can be used to combine motifs from different photos. Finally, Adobe is introducing an AI motion feature that adds motion blur to a photo to simulate dynamics.

Premiere Elements introduces improved timeline and color correction

Premiere Elements 2025 also gets several AI-driven features from Adobe, such as automated white balance and LUT (lookup table) support for easy color corrections. This makes it easier for users to customize video footage and apply visual styles via preset color curves and filters.

In addition, the timeline in the video editing software is simplified. Video and audio tracks are grouped for easier navigation, and a Quick Tools menu has been added for quick access to commonly used editing options. Users can also lock titles to prevent accidental changes. Premiere Elements also adds dynamic titles with more text formatting options, and access to Adobe Stock templates is available at no additional cost.

Both programs are optimized for the Apple M3 chip, resulting in faster performance on Mac computers with an integrated ARM chip. Additionally, there will be simplified web and mobile versions of both apps for on-the-go editing.

Adobe will hold its MAX conference on October 14th this year. Engadget says more information about AI improvements in its professional software packages will be released by then.
