Samsung One UI 7 will be the new major version of the software ecosystem of the South Korean giant. Developed on Android 15, It won’t be available until next year. with the launch of the Galaxy S25 smartphones.
Samsung held its developer conference (SDC24) this week. At the user level, the most important news was (and is) about the next software update. And there is good and less good news. The worst part is that its launch will be delayed, including the beta version that is still waiting. In return, everything points to it version will be more polished and ambitiousboth in properties and scope.
What started as a simple software layer called TouchWiz and was later expanded under the name Samsung Experience eventually became One UI, now in its seventh generation. The platform continues to grow in features, services and custom applications and it is – by far – the most complete software platform among all manufacturers that work with Android.
And it will go even further, as it was one of the main announcements of SDC24 One user interface will be extended beyond your mobile device and eventually reach a long list of Samsung products, TVs, appliances and more. The goal is to streamline software updates for your entire catalog.
In addition to significantly increasing the range, Samsung One UI 7 will be much more ambitious than the previous version. Its new features will be combined with the general ones that Google has developed for Android 15 and will include “completely new user interface design”Sally Hyesoon Jeong, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics and head of the research and development team, said at the conference.
The new home screen will be and facilitate the use of the terminal and access to its functions. Emergency satellite connection; vertical app drawer in settings; a new mode to increase autonomy; Google’s private space features or improvements in multitasking and security will be other new features, not forgetting that the company will continue to deploy the Galaxy AI features that debuted in the Galaxy S24.
The new version of Samsung’s software platform is promising. And a lot, as befits the world’s largest smartphone vendor. It arrives a little later than expected with the launch of the S25, but it’s acceptable in exchange for an increase in its gloss, power and range.
