Upon arriving in Connecticut, they were informed that they would have to pay $30,000 with interest, as well as additional fees for rent, food and gas, and other expenses.

Ramos’ co-conspirators produced false documents for the victims, including permanent resident cards and Social Security cards, and helped them find jobs in the Hartford area.

Some victims were also forced to do unpaid housework and gardening without any reduction in their debt.

According to prosecutors, if the victims did not make payments or did not make them in the expected amount, the defendants threatened to harm their relatives in Mexico, keep the property they provided as collateral and report them to immigration authorities. or increase the interest on your debt.

Ramos, who will be sentenced on Jan. 6, will have to pay the victims $494,608 in restitution for which she and her husband agreed to sell the Hartford property they owned.
