Office of the Special Coordinator United Nations For Lebanon This Tuesday he asked inevitable and agreed upon decision reach restore security and stability along the Blue Line, border between Lebanon and Israel as violence increases in the area.

This is a UN office in coordination with United Nations Interim Force for Lebanon (UNIFIL), stated in a joint statement that, a year after the start of the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip “The only way to achieve what civilians on both sides of the border need is to agreed decision.”

“It’s time to act”points to text that states that every missile or bomb launched “removes the parties from UN Resolution 1701 and conditions necessary to ensure the safety of the civilian population.”

Increasing violence and destruction will not solve the problem or make anyone feel safer in the long run; rather the opposite.

Thus, they remembered that a year had passed “since almost daily shootouts across the Blue Line, started when Hezbollah launched rockets towards Shebaa Farms. in violation of the cessation of hostilities and Security Council resolution 1701.”

“A year has passed in which too many lives have been lost and devastated, while Civilians on both sides of the Blue Line lack security and stability. A year in which our repeated calls for moderation, protection of civilians and respect for international law (…) were ignored,” the text says.

In this sense, they regret that the shootings have become more frequent “until they became merciless.” a military campaign whose humanitarian impact is catastrophic.”

As constant Israeli bombing has become part of daily life in Lebanon and Hezbollah fires missiles and rockets into Israel, too many people are paying an unimaginable price: many are killed, many more are injured and hundreds of thousands are forced from their homes.
