Israeli defense company Plasan Sasa unveils Wilder combat jeep

Israeli defense company Plasan Sasa introduced the Wilder combat jeep. Designed for military patrols and special forces, the 3.7-tonne armored vehicle provides protection for NATO Level 2 Stanag 4569.

Combat conditions require soldiers to be able to travel across terrain at high speeds, carrying equipment and firepower to complete the mission. Many different vehicles have been developed for this task, but current versions are expected to provide a reasonable degree of protection as specified in requirements such as NATO’s Stanag 4569, which covers logistics and protection of lightly armored vehicles.

Wilder, which can carry four passengers and a load of 800 kg, is an ultra-light closed four-wheel drive vehicle with a wheelbase of 370 mm thanks to its patented suspension system. The car is equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the driver sits in the middle of the panoramic view.

Wilder acts like a race car on terrain. The Kitted Hull cabin is air conditioned and provides the same protection and remote control of firepower as a large machine.

The cargo compartment in the rear can hold a standard pallet with NATO equipment, and the entire vehicle can fit inside a heavy Boeing CH-47 Chinook transport helicopter. It can also be converted into a 6×6 hybrid car that can carry two tons of cargo by connecting to the Plasan all-terrain electrical module (ATeMM).

A feature of the Wilder is the electronic control system that allows the crew to leave the vehicle and control their weapons remotely using the control panel and on-board cameras. It can also operate autonomously, allowing the crew to remain as safe as possible.
