Adobe is launching a new free web app that allows creators of videos, photos or audio to protect their work from unauthorized use. The Adobe Content Authenticity web app makes it easy for creators to add content credentials to their works for proper attribution. Additionally, developers can disable generative AI models if the AI developers support it.
Adobe’s new web app, Content Authenticity, is available for free and helps creators protect their content. By adding content credits to their works, creators receive credit for their work. Adobe describes Content Credentials on its blog as “a “nutrition label” for digital content, serving as secure metadata that anyone can attach to their work to share information about themselves and provide context about how their content was created and edited .”
The content credentials are supported by popular Adobe Creative Cloud apps such as Photoshop, Lightroom and Firefly. The new web app allows creators to specify whether their work can be used to train generative AI models. This is in response to growing concerns within the creative community regarding unauthorized use of content. Adobe emphasizes in its announcement that Firefly will only be trained on approved content and not customer content.
Adobe wants to help protect creative works from misuse and misrepresentation and strives for greater transparency in the digital world.
