Microsoft will no longer support DirectAccess in Windows 11. The feature will be deprecated for future Windows updates.

Windows 11’s latest 24H2 update no longer allows users to use DirectAccess. Instead, Microsoft wants them to switch to Always On VPN, writes Heowin. The DirectAccess feature gave you instant access to internal resources such as file servers without the need for a VPN connection.

Waiting for a solution…

It was already clear that the 24H2 update was not working properly. Some users received one after the update Blue screen of death to see. There were also reports of users suddenly being unable to use DirectAccess.

In principle, the function should continue to work because, unlike WordPad, it is simply deprecated and has not yet been removed. One solution that works is to roll back to a previous version of Windows.

Earlier this month, Microsoft communicated what 24H2 means for professionals. However, not a word was said about DirectAccess and the ability to copy files more quickly. Fortunately, the DirectAccess issue was resolved via the official Microsoft Support X account. It may take some time for Microsoft to provide an answer or solution.
