Samsung has its own Wallet, one of the most robust payment methods on Android. It is one of the few real alternatives to Google Wallet and works with loyalty cards, is compatible with most Spanish banks and is ultimately an alternative that we can use if we have a Samsung mobile.

Samsung’s new Wallet is called ‘Tap to Transfer’ and works thanks to NFC technology. It will be something very similar to Apple’s ‘Tap to Pay’ system, where simply moving one device close to another will be enough to make the payment via Samsung Wallet.

Make one-touch payments easy

As reported on Xataka Android, Samsung Wallet is starting to be updated with this interesting function first in its home country. Simply configure our data in the app, type the amount we want to transfer, bring the phone close to the recipient’s phone and authenticate using fingerprint recognition.

This last point is very important: No one will be able to make payments with our phone or bring their own phone closer to extort money from us. If there is no authentication, the transaction will not be performed.

The one-tap payment feature will go live in South Korea and will be supported by major banks by the end of the year. Since Wallet is Samsung’s mainstay in Europe, it can’t be ruled out that this functionality is coming to our region as well. But it is better not to expect this anytime soon.

In order for Tap to Transfer to operate, agreements must be made with the main Spanish banks; This is a time-consuming alliance process. However, it wouldn’t be crazy if this function becomes available in Europe from next year or 2026.

Apple announced Tap to Pay in 2022, and the feature has not yet arrived in Spain and there are no plans for it to come. Samsung has a golden opportunity to surpass Apple with an even more complete payment system.
