A new video released by Estonian robotics and autonomous systems developer Milrem Robotics shows a tank with artificial intelligence systems destroying cars and other targets.
Dubbed the Type-X, the tank was designed to allow troops to “break through enemy defenses with minimal risk.” The combat vehicle gives them “equal or greater firepower and tactical use of the unit”, as does those using BMPs. The company claims the Type-X navigation and obstacle detection systems are based on artificial intelligence, which gives it an advantage over human enemies.
The tank can be equipped with massive guns, anti-tank missiles and even mooring drones for remote reconnaissance. During the latest tests, Milrem collaborated with the Norwegian company Kongsberg Defense and Aerospace to equip the tank with a 30 mm gun.
