Windows 11 widgets are small tabs that appear dynamic content of applications and services. They offer quick access to information such as news, weather, calendar events or third-party applications directly from the Windows desktop. And some of them can even be accessed from the lock screen, making everyday activities more convenient.
However, not everyone finds this feature so useful. For some users, Windows 11 Widgets can be distracting, and others rate them even worse because they see them as source of pig unnecessary, which consumes valuable system processing capacity that could be better used in other areas. If you are part of this group, the good news is that they can be managed, disabled or managed in a (relatively) easy way.
There are several levels of managing this feature, from removing a specific widget to permanently uninstalling the entire service. We review them:
Hide one widget:
Outside the main panel
Turn off the lock screen
Total goodbye
Hiding Windows 11 widgets is quite simple as you may have read. But that doesn’t stop them from running in the background. In other words, widgets will continue to consume valuable system resources even when you are not using them.
This can be seen in the Task Manager as you can see the “Windows Widgets” processes running after they are hidden. Also, if you accidentally press e Windows + W, the widget panel will open. The only way to prevent widgets from running in the background is to uninstall them completely. As follows:
It’s the only way to completely remove them and prevent them from taking up hardware resources unnecessarily when you’re not using them.
Reinstall them
A previous operation can be undone at any time. If you want to use them again, just use the following command to install “winget install –id 9MSSGKG348SP” (without the quotes) in the PowerShell window.
