Google is launching a migration tool that allows administrators to easily transfer users’ files from OneDrive within the organization.
Switching from a cloud environment often requires a lot of effort to transfer all files correctly. Google is making it easier for organizations to switch from Microsoft, the company writes in a blog. Workspace is coming with a new migration tool that allows administrators to transfer files from OneDrive to the Google cloud.
To do this, first connect to the Microsoft OneDrive account from which you want to transfer the files via Google Workspace. You then specify the email addresses of the users you want to migrate. Finally, the administrator creates an “identity map” to connect users of the source account with users of the corresponding target account.

Only users with super administrator rights can perform this action. The migration tool can transfer up to a hundred users at a time. Migration includes not only files and folders, but also access rights to shared folders.
Google will roll out the OneDrive migration tool to all business (and paying) Workspace users in the coming weeks. The tool should be available to everyone in early November.
