A global study shows that marketplaces play an essential role in the growth of IT providers. Most suppliers expect their sales through these channels to increase significantly over the next five years.
Pax8 presented the results of a new study that highlights trends in digital sales within the channel. No less than 90 percent of IT providers expect to generate more sales via online marketplaces by 2029. The findings are based on a report from Channelnomics that highlights how marketplaces not only provide scalable sales channels, but also enable the analysis of customer data to generate new revenue streams.
The advantages of marketplaces
More than a third of IT providers already generate 20 percent of their sales through marketplaces. According to the study, 87 percent of providers assume that they will use these platforms more in the coming years. The popularity of marketplaces has increased significantly, especially in Europe and North America, where the digital infrastructure is well developed.
The main benefits are reaching a wider audience with lower overhead costs and higher profitability. In addition, marketplaces ensure an improved customer experience and sustainable growth, including through upselling and cross-selling options.
Data-driven decision making
IT providers also recognize the importance of data analysis. By analyzing sales and purchase history, companies can better respond to customer needs and optimize their sales strategies. Almost half of respondents say cost savings are key when developing their marketplace strategy, while a user-friendly platform is also seen as crucial to success.
According to the report, marketplaces play a key role in the future of IT sales, helping companies not only create new revenue streams but also improve their customer experience and ensure long-term growth.
