Microsoft confirms that it is bringing the calendar from the new Outlook for Windows to Teams. The new calendar in Teams brings together several productivity features, including the latest Microsoft Copilot, which helps users summarize meetings or choose optimal workdays for collaboration. With this agenda, the company wants to bring the new Outlook for Windows, Outlook on the web, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Places closer together. Microsoft is currently developing this feature, but users will soon be able to try it out as an opt-in feature.

Microsoft Copilot

The new calendar in Teams has several productivity features. These include the latest innovations such as Microsoft Copilot, which allows users to manage schedules and prepare or summarize meetings. Additionally, you can even let Microsoft Copilot determine the optimal days for office collaboration.

Optimized experience

Microsoft says trust and reliability are at the heart of Teams’ new agenda. It’s a unified calendar that works in the new Outlook for Windows, Outlook on the web, Microsoft Places, and now Microsoft Teams.

Just as users in the new Outlook version can use a switch to choose whether they work in the “old” or new Outlook, this will also happen in a similar way with the new calendar in Teams. With the new update, users will see a New Calendar button at the top right of the Calendar app in Teams. This is disabled by default. Users need to enable it to try out the feature. For more information, see the Microsoft 365 Roadmap page, feature ID 415415.
