Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, warned that Mexico ‘not going to sell a single car to the US’ if he wins the US elections next November.

In an interview with the Economic Club of Chicago, the billionaire said that to achieve this, he would impose tariffs of more than 200% on cars imported from Mexico.

“Our country is under threat from Mexico… If I run this country, they won’t be able to sell a single car in the United States and I’ll impose a tariff of 100%, 200% or 2000%. They won’t sell a car here because we won’t destroy our country.”

Trump similarly said that China is building huge car factories in Mexico and “they’re going to sell them to the United States.”

“China is building huge car factories in Mexico. They’re going to build them, take these cars and sell them in the United States, and they’re going to have all the advantages and none of the disadvantages, and that’s going to be the end of Michigan and South Carolina; This will be the end of everything.”
