On Tuesday evening, Google started rolling out Android 15 for Pixel phones. The updates include new security features that help protect your health, financial and personal information from theft and fraud. You can check whether the update is already available on your device via Settings.
Google started rolling out Android 15 for Pixel devices on Tuesday evening. This rollout includes several new features, including previously announced anti-theft features. If your phone detects that someone has stolen it, Anti-Theft Lock will automatically lock your device.
Remote Lock allows you to quickly lock your device from any device with your phone number and a simple security verification. These features are now available, including for most Android 10+ devices. The functions are currently only available for smartphones; tablets do not yet have access to them.
Additionally, Android 15 also offers the ability to store apps in a digital vault on your phone. The apps in this private area are invisible until you unlock the private area. This is a particularly useful function for privacy-relevant apps such as banking apps or social media.
Additionally, the new app pairing feature offers new multitasking options. This makes it easier to access the apps that help you get more things done, whether you’re writing an email or brainstorming on a document.
You can check if the update is available on your phone from your Android settings menu. It can usually take a few days for the rollout to be visible to everyone.
