UPDATE: Amazon introduced a wide renewing its line of e-readersincluding the first Kindle color, the redesigned Kindle Scribe, the faster Kindle Paperwhite, and the new colors for the affordable Kindle that we’ve shown in this article.

Kindle Colorsoft — The first color Kindle

As the name suggests, Amazon has brought color to its readers in a model that retains familiar features: high contrast, smooth page turning, automatically adapting front light and a week’s battery life. Amazon says everything has been carefully designed to offer intense, paper-like colors. It uses an oxide motherboard with customized curves to ensure fast performance and higher contrast in both color and black-and-white content.

Your custom Colorsoft display features a new nitride LED light guide that, combined with our proprietary algorithms, enhances color and increases brightness, all without sacrificing detail. You can enlarge images without worrying about pixelation and choose between standard or vivid color styles. The Kindle Colorsoft includes wireless charging, up to 8 weeks of battery life, and is water resistant.

Kindle Scribe – Kindle and digital notebook in one

Amazon also introduced a second generation all-in-one version where you can read as well as write. Like the original version, it combines all the benefits of Kindle with a powerful note-taking device. The screen has new white borders and a smooth paper-like texture that makes it look like you’re writing on a piece of paper. In addition, with a resolution of 300 dpi, the text looks sharp and clear when writing or reading.

The premium pencil and new soft-tip rubber are designed to offer the right weight and balance, so you feel like you’re holding a real pen. And the new Scribe aims to offer the definitive experience of writing in a book. It includes an Active Canvas so you can write ideas directly as they occur. The note is integrated into the page and the text of the book automatically adjusts around it. If you increase the font size, change the font style, or change the layout of the book, the note will remain visible in exactly the same place so that context is not lost.
