A few weeks ago, I told you that Windows 11 24H2 has big problems and that things are not looking good. It was very curious because just this new update It was one of the most anticipated for all the improvements it brings, especially at the performance level for Ryzen 7000 and Ryzen 9000 processors.

The fact is that Microsoft stayed true to their ways and released a poorly reviewed update and full of mistakes nothing unusual, but Windows 11 24H2 has reached a point where the problems are so severe that the Redmond giant has had to suspend its deployment.

At the moment it looks like it is this pause is limited to certain computers with specific configurations, but depending on how the situation develops, it can be extended to a larger number of teams. Personally, I’m clear that I’m not going to install this update until the storm has completely passed, and that seems to be a long way off.

Just yesterday, a new problem was discovered that affected various WD SSDs and that caused blue screens of death. Fortunately, the company reacted quickly and released a new firmware that solves this problem, which we can download through its official website. This page also lists the affected units and explains the update process.

Right now, it’s best to wait and continue with Windows 11 23H2.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the only new issue we’re seeing in Windows 11 24H2. In addition to everything we’ve seen so far, including the bug that causes this update to “steal” 8.63 GB of storage space from us, we’re adding others like the error when using the “SFC /scannow” command and the one that causes the function from clipboard history not working

If you have problems with this feature, try this disable and enable again this function. There are cases where this simple step has solved the problem, although it will be Microsoft who will have to provide a definitive solution to all the problems that Windows 11 24H2 shows, and I assume that it will arrive in the form of a patch.

As for the extra 8.63 GB that this update takes up, that seems to be the problem related to checkpoints from cumulative updates, one of the most important new features introduced by Windows 11 24H2 precisely.

With this panorama, to say that Microsoft is not doing well with Windows updates is a huge understatement in my opinion, and the worst thing is that looking at the history of recent years, it seems that the company does not care because failed to improve and these updates keep coming full of problems and serious bugs.
