Applications are another channel through which computer viruses are transmitted.

According to a study conducted by the company SecneurX, malicious applications on mobile devices have been identified.

These apps go unnoticed in the eyes of the people because they seem to be official or original from a particular developer and are harmless to anyone who downloads them.

This is not a new case, but after the invention of the smartphone, “pirate” apps were spread in the cloud, trying to infect the victims’ cell phones with viruses, allowing them to not only damage devices, but also steal personal information. .

In this case, a group of 18 apps have been identified that appear on Google Play, but which are actually malicious applications disguised as mobile platforms that offer very useful features to users who download them.

The viruses under consideration are known to cybersecurity experts such as Hydra and joker, which are not really new, on the contrary, for several years have been causing “headaches” for both users and developers of Google and other official platforms.

These malicious programs aim to infect devices to gain access to users’ personal information such as passwords and bank details, phone numbers or email accounts so that cybercriminals can steal, blackmail or impersonate themselves.

This is a list of 18 apps that run malware so that people can identify if they have downloaded any of them and thus continue to eliminate them immediately from their smartphone.

Among the obvious features that these supposed apps performed were changing the look of cell phone keyboards by adding more colors or personalization options, editing photos, offering image banks, wallpapers, and themes to use in the phone interface.

Also, there were messaging platforms, apps for scanning or viewing documents, and a webcam for text translators.

This list of malicious applications was also reported by Information Technology Agency D3Lab and Kaspersky.

Most of these apps have already been removed from Google Play, an activity that the company usually needs to develop because, as mentioned above, apps that, although harmless, are aimed at stealing data and damaging devices appear almost daily.

If you have any of these apps, they should be removed directly by going to the “Applications” section of your mobile phone configuration to make sure they are completely removed and no trace of them is left in the system.

Finally, recommendations for Android users to protect their data and devices from threats is to make sure that all their downloads will be done from Google Play, because although these 28 apps have affected the normal functioning of the platform, most of them are sometimes mobile apps. Which contains malicious programs or viruses, downloaded from third-party and unofficial repositories or also from unreliable websites.

For more security, on the other hand, whenever you download an app that has little information about it, it is advisable to read the reviews and, if necessary, report so that Google is informed and thus more users do not fall into this cyber trap.
