North Korea sent 1,500 special forces soldiers to the Russian Far East South Korea’s spy agency said Friday they will undergo training and acclimatization at local military bases and will likely be deployed to fight in the war in Ukraine.

South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) also said it was working with its Ukrainian counterparts and using facial recognition artificial intelligence technology to identify North Korean officials in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine. They support Russian troops by launching North Korean missiles.

North Korea sent artillery shells, ballistic missiles and anti-tank missiles to Russia in more than 13,000 containers since August last year, According to the agency, based on the remains of weapons seized from the battle front in Ukraine. Yoon’s office said South Korea, along with its allies, had been closely monitoring the dispatch of North Korean troops to Russia from the very beginning.
South Korea will respond to the DPRK’s actions by all available means, he added, without providing details.
Zelensky warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin was counting on external support to fight the war and needed foreign troops, given the high number of casualties at the front and the need to call up more soldiers.
Putin is concerned about the need for new mobilizations, so he is trying to involve other participants in the war.
