Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump went to a McDonald’s in suburban Philadelphia and tried out the French fries station and drive-thru window.

The former president arrived and said he was “looking for a job” and had always wanted to work in a fast food restaurant.

He then took off his jacket, put on a black and yellow apron, and started making French fries.

Surrounded by cameras, Trump dipped the potatoes in hot oil, then salted them and handed them out to customers through the restaurant window. Thousands of people lined the street in front of the restaurant to watch.

“It’s fun. “I could do this all day.”said Trump, whose adoration of fast food is well documented.

Trump said the visit to McDonald’s was partly intended as a jab at Harris, who says she worked for the fast-food chain during college. Trump claims Harris never worked there, but has provided no evidence to support this. Harris, who is campaigning in Georgia, told Reuters the move was a sign of the real estate mogul’s desperation.

The photo shoot turned into a press conference, with reporters outside shouting questions at Trump through the window.

Harris will need strong showings in majority nonwhite cities such as Detroit and Atlanta and their surrounding suburbs to replicate President Joe Biden’s 2020 victories in Michigan and Georgia.

The former president is trying to take advantage of what he saw as his best position, according to opinion polls that show the race deadlocked. Some voters have already mailed in their ballots in Pennsylvania, the biggest Election Day bounty among battleground states. (Reuters).
