Samsung has announced the launch of a special edition Galaxy Z Fold. The terminal comes to strengthen its line of folding products where it largely dominates the market.

After months of rumors and leaks, confirmed by an invitation from Samsung to launch what was clearly this new foldable device, the company has unveiled it for sale in its country of origin, although it will eventually make its way to the international market.

Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition as expected

Samsung emphasizes that this model is the thinnest and lightest in the Galaxy Z Fold series. At 10.6mm thick and weighing 236g, this special edition device is notably slimmer, 1.5mm less, compared to the current Galaxy Z Fold6. It will only be available in black and in another difference it has a striped pattern that gives it a more modern look.

The main folding screen is now attached 8-inch AMOLED panel with an aspect ratio of 20:18, which is also the largest screen in the entire series. Outer cover screen It’s also larger at 6.5 inches diagonal with a 21:9 aspect ratio, giving you a more natural and regular smartphone-like aspect ratio for better usability.

The cameras are also getting better, and despite the new slimmer design, for the first time in the Galaxy Z range, it includes a 200MP main sensor. In addition, they include a 12MP telephoto camera, a 10MP ultra-wide camera, a 4MP under-display camera and a 10MP selfie camera on the cover screen.

The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition retains the same SoC, the so-called Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 which is the most powerful available. By default, it installs up to 16 GB of memory and 512 GB for internal storage. The rest of the specifications are also the same as the latest Fold6 model.

The special edition Galaxy Z Fold is now available for pre-order in South Korea with availability from October 25 and priced at 2,789,600 won (approximately US$2,035). Customers who purchase this special edition smartphone before December 31 will receive discount coupons for Samsung wearables, the Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch Ultra or Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, as well as the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra tablet.
