The mini PC with a Qualcomm Snapdragon According to the manufacturer, the development kit does not meet expectations.

The first Windows 11 desktop PC with an ARM chip on board is said to have been the Qualcomm Snapdragon Dev Kit. The miniPC was intended to provide developers with a platform to make x86 software ARM compatible. The development kit was announced in May but is now scrapped, according to The Verge.

In an email to customers, Qualcomm wrote that the whole thing was due to quality control. The company said that the miniPC “did not meet our usual quality standards at all.” As a result, Qualcomm announced that it “has made the decision to suspend this product and its support indefinitely.”

Everyone gets their money back, even those who have already received a device.

The mini PC was originally supposed to be available in June, alongside the introduction of Qualcomm Snapdragon X chips in Copilot+ PCs. The chip proved a success, but the development kit did not.

The chip variant in the development kit, the X1E-00-1DE, had a slightly higher dual-core boost clock than the fastest X-Elite version. You could push the mini PC to over 100 watts. That sounds interesting, but one tester found that four times the power only yields up to 30 percent more performance.
