Google on Thursday updated the AI-powered summarization options of its AI assistant NotebookLM.
NotebookLM is a Google AI assistant for note-taking and tracking research. Users have multiple options for aggregating their resources, such as: B. the formatting of FAQs, a timeline or a study guide. You can also generate podcast-like audio conversations about the content you share.
Decide the outcome of the conversation yourself
NotebookLM can also generate audio conversations based on shared content such as long documents or websites. Google now offers the ability to guide these AI conversations and focus them on specific topics.
Previously, NotebookLM only generated automatic conversations. In this way the Speakers often went off topic or beat around the bush. Now the overview of this AI conversation can be customized. This allows users to steer the conversation toward things that are interesting to them, according to Techcrunch.
This prevents the AI from ruminating on irrelevant topics. Google emphasizes that user instructions are not used to train the AI model. There is also the option to set up the conversation in the background. Users can then continue to upload resources or use other features in NotebookLM.
