Google announced Availability of Gemini Live in Spanish. The announced and highly anticipated deployment of the Internet giant’s AI personal assistant to hundreds of millions of Spanish-speaking people, the ultimate competition for OpenAI’s ChatGPT conversational functionality.

Everything related to AI is still in full swing and the big tech companies continue to position themselves. If we announced last week how OpenAI released ChatGPT for Windows, we opened it with Gemini mobile (Android app) which is updated to be used in our language, as Google explains: “We believe everyone should have access to the power of AI. By expanding Gemini Live’s connectivity and apps into multiple languages, we’re making this a reality and helping people around the world connect with information and benefit from an AI assistant.”.

The idea of ​​Gemini Live (formerly known as Bard) is the same in any language: “Have natural conversations like you would with a friend.” The main features are also preserved:

• Chat: Talk to Gemini without typing and he will respond verbally.
• Speak up: Ask him to give you gift ideas, plan an event or create a business plan.
• Get informed: Discover more information about topics that interest you.
• Practice out loud: Prepare for the most important occasions with more natural conversations.

How to use Gemini Live in Spanish

It should be said that the application supports conversations in up to two languages ​​supported on the same device. You can easily configure it:

• Download and install the app (if you don’t already have it) from Google Play.
• Open the app on Android phones or tablets.
• At the top, tap your profile photo or initials.
• Tap Settings > Google Assistant > Languages.
• Select Spanish or a supported language from the supported languages.

As we said above. Optionally you can add a second language compatible with those supported by Google. The update to add more languages ​​to the original English is done gradually and will eventually reach 40 more languages.

Finally, note that Google qualifies its personal AI assistant for Android as “experimental”. Let’s say if you enable Gemini Live, you disable Google Assistant and vice versa.
