Asus PC owners should wait a while before installing the Windows 11 24H2 update. Compatibility issues can trigger a blue screen.

Since Microsoft released Windows 11 24H2 to the general public earlier this month, support has had its hands full. For a few days now, an error has been added to the now long list of known problems that specifically affects Asus brand devices. Asus laptops suffer from blue screens after installing the latest Windows update.

Microsoft worked with the manufacturer to identify the issue. It could be due to a hardware compatibility issue. It is not explained in detail which parts exactly represent the problem. It is also not clear whether this could affect all laptop models that meet the Windows 11 24H2 system requirements.

To avoid further complaints, Microsoft has temporarily paused the rollout on Asus devices with problematic hardware until the issue is resolved. Microsoft advises owners of the brand’s device not to force the update manually.

Not the only one

Asus is far from the only brand having issues with the latest Windows update. Western Digital’s SSDs were also found to be vulnerable to the blue screen virus. Western Digital has now released an update to address this issue. We expect Asus to do the same soon. If it’s not a blue screen, Windows update can also give you 8GB of undeletable data.

Luckily, it’s not all doom and gloom with Windows 11 24H2. In addition to new features, the update also ensures that future updates are installed significantly faster.
