The American company General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) demonstrated a new generation Abrams tank. The image of the car was posted on a special website of the company. The Drive writes that the upgraded Abrams could get new weapons and a hybrid power plant.

The site also has a short video showing the individual elements of the car. The characteristics of the tank are not given. It was stated that the design of the new generation machine will not be associated with the modernization of the Abrams System Enhanced Package Version 4 (SEP v4) serial tanks.

“One of the short video presentations features the slogans ‘Silent Blow’ and ‘They’ll Never Hear Us Closer’ suggesting that a new version of Abrams might have a hybrid engine,” writes The Drive.

The arsenal of the new tank may include a remote-controlled combat module Kongsberg Protector RS6 with an automatic M230 caliber 30-millimeter gun. This will allow the tank to hit low-flying targets and lightly armored vehicles. The newspaper also writes that on the tower of a promising car you can see several sensors that can be part of the active protection complex.

It is believed that the main tool of a promising machine will be an advanced smoothbore gun XM360 120 mm caliber. The weapon was developed under the Future Combat Systems (FCS) program.
