KIOXIA introduced the EXCERIA PLUS G2 to refresh its storage offering. It is about the second generation of your external SSD and while maintaining size and performance, it is even smaller and lighter than the original version.

Modern external SSDs are great for transferring data on the go and using it on any device thanks to a widely used port such as USB. And if, in addition to being external, it is as portable as the model in question, so much the better, as it makes it easier to use and carry in your pocket.

EXCERIA PLUS G2, more and better

The unit has been redesigned to reduce its dimensions to 72 x 40 x 11.8mm and is even thinner and lighter (42g). A compact, elegant and practical design that is reinforced and aluminum chassis which supports the MIL-STD military standard for improved shock and drop resistance. Kioxia says it also allows for better heat dissipation, especially under heavier workloads.

The unit installs Kioxia’s own BiCS FLASH 3D memory with vertical stacking to maintain a compact size and be able to increase capacity up to 2TB. Externally, it is equipped with a modern USB Type-C port, while internally it supports interfaces such as USB2, USB 3 and USB 3.2 Gen2, where maximum performance is achieved, estimated value 1,050 / 1,000 Mbytes per second in sequential read/write.

The manufacturer bundled several cables with the unit, USB-C and also another USB-A to increase compatibility. And it can really be used with any type of device, from mobile phones to personal computers, tablets or video game consoles. It is compatible with Windows, macOS, iPadOS or Android operating systems from the factory, although as we said, it will work on almost any computer with a USB port from version 2.0.

EXCERIA PLUS G2 will be available in three versions depending on their storage capacity, 512 GB, 1 and 2 bytes. The drive comes with a three-year warranty and free KIOXIA SSD Utility management software.
