Mercedes-Benz introduced the eEconic

Mercedes-Benz introduced the first fully electric tanker truck eEconicThis helps Airbus Donauwo to refuel new Airbus helicopters with environmentally friendly aviation fuel to reduce emissions.

Tanker eEconic It has 16,500 liters of environmentally friendly aviation fuel. The vehicle not only reduces emissions on site, but also reduces idle time. This is because electric cars require less maintenance than diesel cars, as well as the fact that such cars can run for a week without needing to be recharged under normal operating conditions. The vehicle is equipped with three batteries with a capacity of 105 kWh, for a total of 315 kWh.

Additionally, the eEconic is equipped with two engines capable of producing 448 hp continuously. (peak power up to 544 hp). This is enough to move trucks quickly through airports and refuel rescue helicopters. Although the truck’s wheelbase is relatively long (5.5 meters), it also supports rear-wheel steering to reduce the turning radius.

Airbus is committed to achieving zero carbon emissions by 2050 and sees the use of clean aviation fuel (SAF) as a key way to achieve this goal. Currently, all Airbus aircraft can operate on fuel mixtures containing 50% SAF. By 2030, all Airbus aircraft with conventional internal combustion engines will be certified to run on 100% sustainable aviation fuel.
