The civil suit was one of two filed Monday in New York State Court in Manhattan by Tony Buzbee, a lawyer who says he represents more than 150 victims of Combs’ abuse and who has filed at least 17 claims.
In a second lawsuit Monday, another male plaintiff said he was A 17-year-old boy auditions for the reality show “Making a Band” when Combs and a bodyguard raped him in 2008.
“The attorney behind this lawsuit is more interested in media attention than the truth,” Combs’ lawyers said in a statement similar to those issued after Buzbee’s previous lawsuits. “The truth will prevail in the courts: Mr. Combs has never sexually abused or trafficked anyone.“male or female, adult or minor.”
Combs, 54, also pleaded not guilty to the charges. criminal charge of sex trafficking in Manhattan federal court, where he faces charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation for the purpose of prostitution.
Federal prosecutors have accused the Bad Boy record label founder of coercing men, women and children into nonconsensual sex acts, bribing and intimidating them into silence, and using his employees to cover up his crimes.
Combs was held in a Brooklyn jail for six weeks after being denied bail twice and appealing his arrest.
In the lawsuit involving a 10-year-old boy, a California plaintiff known as John Doe said he was an aspiring actor and rapper when a consultant hired by his parents set up an “audition” with Combs at a New York hotel.
According to the complaint, after Doe told Combs he would “do anything” to become a star, Combs gave him a drugged sodapushed him to the ground and forced him to perform oral sex on him.
Doe said he blacked out and when he woke up, he was in pain and his pants were undone. He said he cried and asked to see his parents, which prompted Combs to say so. They would be “very hurt” if Doe revealed what happened.according to the complaint.
Combs’ criminal trial is scheduled for May 5, 2025. (Reuters).
