City health authorities United Kingdom discovered the first case of a new variant mpox – ancient monkeypox – in a patient returning from a trip to Africa and this is the beginning show symptoms already on earth Britishalthough they clarified that the risk to the general population “remains low.”
Health Safety Agency did not provide details of the patient for confidentiality reasons, except to say that this was a case identified in London and referred to a hospital department in infectious diseases.
Authorities are now tracing their close contacts to rule out possible outbreak.
World Health Organization (WHO) declared an international emergency due to this new variant in mid-August, which is mainly concentrated in Democratic Republic of the Congo and in other African countries.
Cases have already been confirmed in Europe. Sweden, Germany and the United Kingdom.
