Eaton launches Network-M3: Gigabit for UPS

Eaton launches the Network-M3 network card. This card has built-in security features that instantly detect hackers and enable secure connectivity and management for UPS and PDU systems.

Eaton introduces the Eaton Gigabit network card (Network-M3). This card succeeds the Network-M2 and, like its predecessor, places great emphasis on security. The network card is intended to provide network connectivity to Eaton’s own PDU and UPS systems and can be connected via a mini-slot.

Security

The card must contribute to a robust network and boot the firmware from a secure environment. In theory, criminals cannot manipulate the card. In addition, the Network-M3 has a firewall functionality. This allows customers to protect the underlying electrical systems from unauthorized access with an additional layer of security.

Extreme speed isn’t relevant given the purpose of this round, so Eaton offers classic gigabit compatibility. The network card has UL 2900-1 and IEC 62443-4-2 certificates.

Finally, the new component can be integrated into Eaton’s Brightlayer solution, which is tailored to data centers. This provides administrators insights into their infrastructure.

The Eaton-M3 is available now. The announcement follows previous launches this year, including a UPS solution for servers and small data centers and another UPS for edge and office.
