US Vice President Kamala Harrisadmitted defeat in the election, assuring that the result was not what they wanted or worked for, but promised that “the promised light of the United States will return.”
“We must accept the results of this election. Today I spoke with President Trump and congratulated him on his victory.
“I told him that we would help him and his team with this transition and that we would be part of a peaceful transition of power,” Harris said from his alma mater, Howard University.
Furthermore, he stated that “the result is not what we wanted, or what we worked for, or what we voted for, and the light of the EU’s promise will return as long as we keep working and keep fighting.”
The former Democratic candidate assured that accepting the results is “a democratic principle; when we lose elections, we must admit it,” and stressed that she would seek a “peaceful transfer of power.”
He noted that he will not stop fighting “for freedom, for opportunity, for justice and the dignity of all people.”
“Fighting for the founding ideals of our nation, ideals that reflect the best of America.”
And he added: “My heart today is full of gratitude for the trust you have placed in me, full of love for our country and full of determination.”

Harris addressed a crowd that included former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, President Joe Biden’s White House aides and thousands of supporters.
His defeat on Tuesday was resounding as Trump improved his performance in much of the country compared with 2020 and Democrats failed to secure key battleground states that decided the election. (According to EFE and Reuters)
