Fortinet is adding a new dose of generative AI to its security portfolio. FortiAI’s integration with FortiNDR Cloud and Lacework FortiCNAPP expands the playing field.
Fortinet adds new generative AI capabilities to FortiNDR Cloud and Lacework FortiCNAPP under the FortiAI banner. These integrations are intended to speed up threat analysis and simplify security investigations.
Fortinet expands its generative AI platform FortiAI with integrations with FortiNDR Cloud and Lacework FortiCNAPP. These additions are aimed at supporting security teams in their daily operations.
In FortiNDR Cloud, FortiAI helps security analysts gain faster insight into the coverage of new threats and vulnerabilities so they can respond more effectively to new attack techniques. FortiNDR Cloud provides automated analytics that give threat hunters instant insight into detections and observations that match their search queries.
In Lacework FortiCNAPP, FortiAI simplifies the process for SOC teams to interpret notifications and take targeted action. Using natural language processing, security teams can easily assess the risk of alerts and receive step-by-step instructions to investigate and resolve incidents. Additionally, FortiAI provides insights into how attackers can potentially compromise systems and helps create correct troubleshooting code.
The new integrations for FortiNDR Cloud and Lacework FortiCNAPP are part of Fortinet’s broader commitment to AI-driven security. FortiAI was born in 2020 and has become a “ChatGPT for security” in recent years. Security experts can give the AI assistant instructions in human language.
Fortinet has already integrated FortiAI into several products, including FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiSIEM, FortiSOAR and FortiDLP. These AI integrations support a variety of tasks such as threat analysis, configuration management, network troubleshooting, and managing high-risk data activities.
With this expansion, Fortinet underlines its strategy to use AI as a tool to support security teams and combat cyber threats more efficiently. Today’s announcement comes barely a day after the announcement of FortiDLP: an AI-driven data loss solution. The company’s goal is to help customers optimize their security processes, make better decisions and become more resilient to increasingly complex cyber threats.
