Company AudiPart of the Volkswagen concern, introduced its new brand in China – Audi (the name is written strictly in capital letters). Produced in collaboration with China’s state-owned automaker SAIC Motor Corporation, these cars lack the familiar four-ring grille.

The first product of the new brand is a conceptual hatchback Audi It has an interesting design. Vehicle dimensions — 4870x1990x1460 mm, wheelbase — 2950 mm. In terms of dimensions, the car is comparable to the current gasoline Audi A5.

There are no four rings as usual, but the logo written in capital letters shines on both the front and rear, even on the rims. The vehicle is built on the Advanced Digitized Platform jointly developed by Audi and SAIC. The wheels are driven by two electric motors with a total capacity of 764 liters. The concept reaches 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. While the company promises the “real Audi feeling” in comfort and dynamics, autonomous driving functions will also be at the level of Chinese cars.

The capacity of the traction battery is 100 kWh, and the range calculated according to the CLTC method is 700 km. The 800-volt architecture will allow you to charge the car very quickly – it will cover 370 km in just 10 minutes. The cabin has wireless charging for two smartphones at once and a large, curved 4K display.

The first three models of the new brand that will go on sale in 2025 will be medium and full-size cars. Recently, Audi has been actively bringing electric versions of its gasoline cars to the Chinese market, why was there a need for a new electric car brand? The company says that under the AUDI brand they will offer a product that is more localized (i.e. aimed specifically at the Chinese) but has the characteristics of the original European brand.
