NVIDIA GeForce Now has undergone a very interesting renewal. NVIDIA announced that it has now changed the name of its intermediate plan and offers more resolution without increasing the price. But the good news comes with a somewhat controversial measure: No price increases, but a new cap on monthly gaming hours.

Let’s go piece by piece.

NVIDIA’s plans. GeForce Now has offered three plans to date: free plan (with ads and sessions up to one hour), “Priority” (with FullHD and RTX resolution) and “Ultimate” (the most complete plan with 4K resolution, up to 240 FPS), DLSS 3, NVIDIA Reflex, etc.). Now “Priority” has been renamed “Performance” and offers 1,440p resolution instead of FullHD and compatibility with ultrawide monitors.

borders. As any GeForce Now gamer will know, there are currently no limits other than the duration of each session. For example, those who pay for NVIDIA GeForce Now Ultimate can play for eight hours in a row (who’s going to catch them…), but beyond that, if you want to play for, say, 600 hours a month in eight-hour continuous sessions each. There is no limit.

More precisely, there wasn’t.

100 hours. As NVIDIA announced in its official statement, starting January 1, 2025, “Performance” and “Ultimate” plans will have a limit of 100 hours per month. We’re talking about three hours of gaming a day.

NVIDIA says this is to “continue to deliver exceptional quality and speed (as well as shorter wait times) to Performance and Ultimate members.” They say this limit “generally fits comfortably with 94% of members who use the service during this time.”

buy time. So what will happen to those 6% who exceed the limit? What happens if we reach those 100 hours per month and want to keep playing? That we can buy watches. For three dollars we can buy 15 hours of “Performance” gameplay, for twice as much, that is, for six dollars we can get 15 hours of “Ultimate” gaming experience. On the other hand, if we have not consumed 100 hours, we can transfer up to 15 hours of unused game time to the next month. It’s like a gigabyte mobile plan, but it’s a game that can be played for hours.

If you are already a user. Players who are already GeForce Now members or subscribed before December 31, 2024 will not have a time limit throughout 2025. This is, as NVIDIA puts it, a “loyal member benefit.” If you’re already a gamer, you’ll be limited to those 100 hours per month next year.
