The AI video creation tool can now be used in Google Workspace.
Today, Google announced the general availability of Google Vids, an AI-powered video creation tool built into the Workspace app.
Vids uses Google Gemini AI technology to streamline the video creation process. A notable feature is ‘Help me create‘ which ignored a storyboard based on a user prompt and a Google Drive document. Gemini analyzes this content and suggests scenes, assets, text, scripts and background music to create a video.
Users can further personalize their videos with animations, transitions, effects and stock content. Google Vids also has AI-powered voiceovers with a choice of voices or the option to record a voiceover with an autocue using the Gemini Read Aloud feature.
The majority of the functions are initially only available in English. Language support will be expanded in the future. According to Android Authority, the features will be fully available until December 31, 2025. After that, usage restrictions apply.
Google Vids is now enabled by default for select editions of Google Workspace, including Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise tiers, Education Plus, and Gemini Add-on customers. The rollout begins today, November 7th, and will last several weeks.
