Iran strongly condemned this Saturday the destructive suicide attack at the station Pakistani city Quetta which left at least 24 people dead and dozens injured, and called for international cooperation to stamp out terrorism.

“Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai strongly condemned terrorist attack this morning at the Quetta railway station,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Baghaei recalled the “principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran to condemn all forms of terrorism and violent extremism” and said that eradicating this evil requires “further strengthening the coordination and cooperation of all countries at the bilateral, regional and international levels.

An Iranian diplomat expressed his country’s condolences and solidarity to the Pakistani government and the families of victims and survivors of a Quetta bombing believed to be a suicide attack that hit a busy booking office, causing widespread panic. and destruction.

“These terrorist acts violate all principles, norms and human rights and are unjustifiable,” Bagai added.

The separatist armed group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack, which killed 24 people and injured about 40 on Saturday.

Pakistan has seen an alarming rise in terrorist attacks, especially in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces bordering Afghanistan.

The attack came just a week after another explosion near a school and hospital in another Balochistan city that killed eight people, including five children. EFE
