Gilmour Space announced on November 5 that it had received permission from the Australian Space Agency for the first flight of its Eris launch vehicle from Bowen Spaceport in North Queensland.
Founded in 2012, Gilmour Space is developing a three-stage, 25-meter rocket called Eris that can carry up to 215 kilograms of payload into sun-synchronous orbit.
This will be the first orbital launch of a rocket built entirely in Australia. Testing should be done by mid-January 2025.
