I’ve admitted this more than once: I love weather apps, and by far my favorite app wasn’t on the Google Play Store and was Open Source. Yes, as you can see, I’m talking in the past tense because I found another one that quickly became indispensable because it has everything I was looking for: lots of weather information and graphics.

I’m not exaggerating when I say that Meteogram has a lot of data and can be overwhelming, but it’s worth taking a good look at the configuration to review it and only grab what interests me. I usually check the weather several times a day, but Meteogram has a very practical solution: a very complete widget. As incredible as it may seem, it’s also free.

What is a meteogram and how does it work?

weather

Its name is most accurate: (Weather Widget) Meteogram is an application available for free on the Google Play Store. Graphs of different meteorological variables. There are even more providers and options in the Pro version, but I would say the free one is more than enough.

The bottom axis of the chart details the hours of the day, and the vertical axis details the quantity of a particular metric. Also possible Stack different measurements to see everything at a glanceSo you can see at a glance, for example, the temperature, atmospheric pressure, the probability of rain or the number of millimeters per hour.

Weather

I insist, I said it sounds complicated and although the interface is not the most modern in the world, it is practical for the amount of data displayed. colors help a lot. In fact, what I like most is being able to access such detailed information about the current and next few hours’ weather conditions at once. Also, if you tap a dot, more information is displayed.

If you tap the three dots in the top right corner you will find the settings at the bottom and although good at first, well structuredThere are so many things to change that I had to spend a lot of time on it. So you can choose location (otherwise it sets based on where we are) or general settings like language, units or update time.

However, the most interesting thing is to go to the ‘Chart Style’ sections, select ‘Meteorological Data Provider’ (Norwegian Meteorological Institute by default) or go metric by metric to choose whether and how to display it. do it. In a nutshell, your custom weather chart. In a foldable app this app should be a pleasure.

An example: are you interested in the resulting thermal sensation? Go in and click ‘Show’, but you can also choose the font and customize in detail how it looks like changing the opacity, color gradient, thickness, among others.

In practice I usually choose to see it or not and don’t do much else, but of course There are boring options and measurements: air quality and pollen, current temperature, wind chill, dew point, ground temperature, ultraviolet index, snow, total and accumulated precipitation, probability of storms, lightning probability index, hail, waves, sea temperature, wind speed and direction, Kp northern lights index of likelihood… and more.

It seems very practical to remove the contents, although I usually go to look at it every day. Widget to the home screen of my Google Pixel Having so much information about weather forecasts is too short for me because the things Android shows are too short for me (temperature, an icon and that’s it).
