This is already in your messaging app, and you won’t notice it until “Draft” appears in one of the chats: WhatsApp has incorporated memory of half-written messages. This makes it easier for you to see in which conversation a message was left to be sent. For example. You will no longer lose your messages just because you left the chat or closed WhatsApp.
In apps like Telegram, all messages are saved even if you haven’t finished typing them. This is what is known as a draft; The chat remembers the words you haven’t sent so they don’t get lost. This has been on Telegram since 2016, rumored to be early. And now it was time to come to WhatsApp.
If you left a message unfinished, WhatsApp puts a green “Draft” on that conversation
The idea of this very useful tool is twofold. On the one hand, it is a graphical indicator that gives you information at a glance. Where did you stop answering halfway?; On the other hand, it is a lifesaver for all of us who write paragraphs and risk losing them because WhatsApp is down. A very welcome combination.
The innovation is available in all WhatsApp applications for Android, whether stable or beta. Just update yours to have the drafts. Even though you don’t know whether the tool has reached your WhatsApp for sure or not until you tryBoth on purpose and by accident.
So how do you know if you have the drafts? Follow these steps:
- Open your WhatsApp app and enter any of your chats. It doesn’t matter if it’s private or in a group.
- Type something but don’t press send.
- Go back and go back to the chats tab.
- In the conversation you abandoned, you will see a green “Draft” text appear next to the text you interrupted.
A “Draft” notification will appear in all conversations that contain half-written text. The color of the notification will always be green. And even if you close WhatsApp, the texts won’t disappear: you can resume the pending draft when you open WhatsApp again.
Drafts prevent you from losing half-written text: if you leave the conversation, the message remains as a draft in the chat. To delete, you need to delete the text or send the message.
As we said, the innovation is already on your mobile if you have a new version of WhatsApp. If the draft notification does not appear in the chats tab when you follow the steps above, go to Google Play and make sure you have the latest version of WhatsApp.
